Hello, fellow Color Creation Friday participants!
We are taking this week's prompt to a deeper, more reflective approach. Throughout your professional or hobbyist experience - whether or not you are an artist or in another industry - what is your biggest regret?
My biggest regret and mistake was (and continues to be) giving in to the nonbelievers, who belittle or invalidate my dreams of being a successful artist. Sometimes, the negativity still gets under my skin, and I find myself wallowing in a sense of sorrow and hopelessness. I try my hardest to remain tough, but it's just one of those things that can wear anyone down. If I had listened to the hate and disregard from the very beginning, I would have never pursued college. I never would have developed my craft in all the unforeseeable ways that have actually become my reality. I wouldn't have the willpower to keep pushing forward to make myself even better.
You can't make anyone support you, or have them see your vision. There's no way to force anyone to experience your feelings of dedication and pride. You can't obligate anyone to be happy for you, or even to want to see you succeed in bringing your dreams into fruition.
Remember to make yourself happy.
You can't dwell on your regrets, but it's smart to remind yourself of these things in order to remain humble . Always stay motivated to improve yourself. Always keep your dreams in the forefront of your mind, and keep working your ass off until you see the results that you're looking for.
